Happy New Year, Friends!
I can’t believe another three hundred and sixty five days have gone by. Sometimes when you look back it is crazy to think how many changes can occur in such a short amount of time, but when you look ahead imagine all of the possibilities!
I just wanted to take a quick minute of your time to tell you how much I appreciate all of you! I have started many blog posts to be filed in the personal category, but then I’m never brave enough to be vulnerable and hit the post button!
So, in a nutshell:
I NEVER ever once in my High School years thought that I would someday have a business that I started on my own. “What are your plans after High School?” I can tell you right now that whatever my “plans” were, they do not align even a little bit with what I’m doing now.
I never went to college because it just wasn’t for me. My plan from the beginning was just to get a secretarial job and start working for someone else, which in hindsight I now know isn’t for me. (I do love working at school and that is technically working for someone else, but I also have wonderful hours and Christmas Vacation! 🙂 I started working at school right out of High school, but a year in to working I had a special friend ask me to take her Engagement photos! I told her I would but I was SO nervous because I was more of a “Landscape Photographer” back then! Many requests later, I decided to create a Facebook page, you know, to make it official! Ha! I got an inquiry within 3 hours of my page being up and I was so sick to my stomach, I KNEW I could never do this! I told myself to calm down, and everything worked itself out! Since then I have had so many opportunities to work with people who I would have never gotten to know personally. I had always said that I would never do Senior Portraits or Weddings, but here I am! I’m so thankful for that! It has been a wonderful journey thus far!
2018 will be bringing a few changes to Chelsea Jane Photography! Some things will be done a little differently thanks to a new management system that I think you will all appreciate! And my prices are going up a little because right now I can’t afford to pay the Secretary! That’s a joke with a little truth behind it. But don’t panic, if you’re already a client of mine there will be a treat for you to show you how thankful I am that you come back year after year! 🙂
Here’s to a new year with new opportunities to do do things we never thought we could do!
Much Love and Thanks! If it were not for my wonderful, loyal clients, I would not be where I am today!
