Cassidy | 2017 Summer Portraits

June 16, 2017

Happy Friday, Friends!  It’s officially summer!  Almost?!  Wednesday was my last day of work so yesterday was my first day of Summer Vacation!  It pays to have a school work schedule! 😉 I’m always so excited for summer.  I like the more relaxing days and how it doesn’t start to get dark until 9pm.  I like that you can open the windows and smell fresh cut hay and hear the tractors going by!  That doesn’t mean I like farming, Dad… I just like to hear it!

So last week, Cassidy for her portrait session!  I was soooo excited when Denise, her mom, contacted me to see if it was something I would be interested in doing.  OF COURSE!  Cassidy is one of my little friends.  By little, I mean that she is under the age of 10 🙂  You wouldn’t know it when you’re around her though!  Cassidy is also the little sister of some of my Best Friends.  It was a lot of fun to photograph her and see how her personality is the same as her sibilings!

So when Cassidy got to my house, she walked in with 3 different outfits… Is this a Senior Session!!!??!  For each outfit, she also brought along a different belt, hair accessory, and necklace!  She was too cute!

I was really excited for this session because it was one of my first outdoor sessions of the year.  When Denise contacted me I told her we could indoor, we could do outdoor, or we could do both!  I didn’t know what they would end up choosing since we have had such a rainy spring.  I told Denise that if we did outdoor portraits, we would probably want to wait a bit until the weather was nice enough. They chose both and I’m so glad they did!

She’s a girly girl, but she wasn’t afraid to walk through and stand in the tall grass!  Don’t worry, I checked for snakes, there weren’t any.  If there were,  I’d never return to this location… ha!

After the outdoor portion of Cassidy’s session, we headed back to the house for an outfit change and some indoor shots!

We discussed using the yellow chair before she came for her session!  I think I was probably the one that was most excited to use it! Side Note:  If you need a chair or anything reupholstered,  my second shooter, Erica Moser, does an ahhhmazing job!  You can find her on Facebook and Instagram under Fearlessly Remade!

“….lay on your back like you would if you were going to lay in the grass and look at clouds!”

She nailed it.  🙂

Denise + Cassidy,

I’m so glad you came!  I had such a wonderful time with both of you!
