Sierra | Class of 2018

July 16, 2017

When I started writing this the first time, this is how it started out:

So when you’re all reading this it will either be late Saturday night or early on Sunday morning!  I don’t usually work late on Saturdays or on Sunday because I really enjoy laid back Saturday night’s on the couch (a sure sign that I’m getting old….24) and Sunday is church and the day of rest, but last night when I wanted to upload Sierra’s photos to my computer I came across a technical issue.  I tried my hardest to resolve it but I didn’t get anywhere so at 1am I decided to just go to sleep and I said a prayer hoping that when I woke up it would just magically be all better!  It wasn’t.  I spent the day chatting with numerous customer service reps, uninstalling programs and downloading new ones and I didn’t even move forward until about 1:30 this afternoon!  I ate chocolate ice cream right out of the carton while I was waiting and to keep myself from crying!  Don’t judge, it was a stressful time!  So after things finally started working in my favor, it still took about 5 and a half more hours for things to finish installing!  I like technology but some days it is not my favorite! (and this weekend it is top on my list of things I do not like!)

I was so anxious to start working on Sierra’s photos and I wanted to share them with her and all of you so badly!  After I was almost finished with her post late Saturday night,  I suddenly had no internet connection and no matter what I tried to do I could not save what I had already put together.  I decided to go to bed once again with high hopes that when I woke up on Sunday morning it would be working fine.  Nope!  I feel like I am a patient person for the most part, but I think God decided He wanted to see me put my patience to work! I am currently having quite a relaxing Sunday afternoon and as of now things are working smoothly so enough of me telling all of you about my frustrations!  Let’s look at Sierra’s SENIOR portraits!  YAY!

We had such a great time.  I told her that her session was by far one of the most adventurous!  We started at her school.  She is a very athletic girl so she wanted some photos that would represent that!

Sierra is one of the happiest girls I know!  She’s always smiling!  We tried doing some serious poses and she could keep a straight face for a little while but then she just cracked a smile and laughed!  I told her she should give the serious face poses to the opposing teams! HaHa!

After all of the sport photos,  Sierra showed her girly side!  I would say I’m more of a girly girl than not, so I love it when my senior girls come and say “I brought so many outfits!”  I don’t think any girl ever gets tired of playing dress up!

Look at her gorgeous smile!

So here is the story on the train tracks.  When you walk out on them YOU CAN SEE THE WATER BELOW THEM.  Nope.  Not a fan.  I don’t even like walking over the grates that they have in the sidewalks or on the side of the street.  Sierra was pretty much fearless.  Her mom and I, not so much!  I decided that the photo would look better if I backed up to take it.  Of course we had to back up far enough so that we were standing on land!  The only problem was that the sun was shining directly on Sierra’s face.  Sierra’s mom gets the “Mother of the Year” Award because she faced her fears and she was more brave than I was and she helped block the light so we could get the perfect photo!  Thanks, Sheila!!!  She was a great assistant!

I have a thing for country roads.  They are just so much safer than railroad tracks with dark scary water underneath them!  I just think the roads are so pretty, especially when the light is perfect!

After the scary railroad tracks 🙂 … we went to a nearby farm!

Sierra really wanted some pictures in the water!  I think that was a fabulous idea!  The only problem was that this creek was running through a horse pasture!  The ground was so squishy near the water!  It was also muddy…at least that’s what we kept telling ourselves we were stepping in!  Sierra got to wash her feet off in the water.  I just decided to take off my flip flops and worry about it later!

Seriously, how cute is she!  I was soooo excited to see this outfit!

Sierra + Sheila,

Thank you SO much!  Thank you for being adventurous and brave!  I had such a wonderful time spending a few hours with both of you and I hope you have enjoyed this little sneak peak!

If you are a 2018 Senior, there is still time to book a Senior Session with me!  Send me a message for more info!
