Baby Kyle | Newborn Session

August 22, 2018

Wednesday!  Here we are again!  We’re going to take a break from Seniors this week!  I have a Newborn Session to share with you all!

A few weeks back I had a friend text me and ask if I was willing to come down to New York City to take pictures of her sister’s new little man!  My first thought was, “UM YES! A trip to the city?!  Why not?!!”  So we planned it all out…and I was excited…until I started thinking about what I signed up for and what I was actually going to do!  I was going to load up all of my equipment, set up my studio in an unfamiliar location and try to get pictures of an almost 2 month old baby, sleeping.  My thoughts went from, “No big deal.  That can’t be too difficult?” to “Chelsea what are you thinking?! Are you crazy?!  This is probably a really bad idea that is not going to end well….”

But Friends…it all worked out…and Baby Kyle, I want to keep him!

My newborn preference is anywhere between 5-10 days, 14 at the most.  Anything above is kind of asking for a potentially rocky experience!  Not to mention that they grow so fast and they quickly lose their newborn look!

I don’t know if I have ever been so nervous for a baby session in my life!  The whole time leading up to this I was thinking, “Chelsea, you are asking for this not to go well!  Why would you set yourself up to fail!?!!”

Much to my surprise, Kyle’s session went so well!  It happened at 11 at night which was totally new for me!  But I think in this situation it helped!  His mom and auntie got him sleeping and he was dream!

The conditions were also perfect.  It was HOT!  Good for Kyle, not so ideal for me (wipes sweat from forehead)… but at this point it didn’t even matter!

Look at that little grin!

The next day, we wanted to get some pictures of Kyle with his eyes wide open!  He has the sweetest brown eyes!

He was a touch fussy, so he was fed a little…and then he was out like a light!  There could have been an earthquake and this boy wouldn’t have even cracked an eyelid!

He looks like he’s enjoying a little vacation!

Finally, after much noise and dancing from Mommy and Grandma, we had an awake little boy!

I’m pretty sure he’s going to break some hearts when he’s older!

I was cracking up while I was editing because he was so unimpressed!  This was taken during the noise and dancing!  He was probably thinking, “What is wrong with those people?!! Why are they barking?!”

He eventually became okay with it and we got the CUTEST pictures of him with his puppy!  I just think he has the sweetest little face!

Gardenia,

I am so glad it worked for Sherri and I to make the trip down to spend some time with you all!  It was so fun to watch you as Mommy!  Kyle is such a blessing and I’m so excited for you and your husband and this next chapter of your lives!
