Hey Friends! Happy Wednesday!
Can you believe it’s the last day of October? When I think about it, I can’t believe how quickly this month has flown by. In school, October is a month that has a lot of days. 🙂 I guess October has a lot of days regardless, but besides Columbus Day and weekends there is school every other day. If a full month flew by just think of how quickly November and December will go! I must admit that I have listened to Christmas music already. I’m sorry but I just couldn’t help myself. To be fair, it is the Christmas Peaceful Piano playlist on Spotify. It’s relaxing and it just makes me feel so calm while I’m just sitting here editing away! We also got our first snow on Sunday so….tis the season!
This week I have a special blog post to share!
Most of you probably know Derek + Erica, but if you don’t, Erica is the wonderful woman who has helped me with weddings! I have a fun story to share about these two!
Derek grew up here in NY, we attend the same church, we were in the same youth group and since youth we have been in the same group of friends to whom I refer to as the Fam! Erica is from Ohio and they met while Derek was preparing to go to North Africa and she was preparing to go to Greece! I remember when they started dating and Derek was telling us all about Erica and how wonderful she was and he said, “She likes to take pictures too!” And I do believe I said the words, “Great! We can do weddings together someday!” How fun that it actually happened!
I will try my hardest to get through this post without sounding too sappy! It is just that I really really like them and they are moving far away!
Derek + Erica are currently planning to move back to North Africa to start a Dairy Co-Op! Exciting right!?!! Yes, but I’m going to miss them oh.so.much.
I wish them nothing but the best, but I do wish it would be easier for them to come home on weekends! I told Derek I have a few dates in mind that they should come home for a visit and wouldn’t you know that I have weddings those weekends! How perfect!
It took some convincing on Erica’s part, but she got Derek to agree to a session! I’m pretty sure he had a fun time! Hopefully it wasn’t too painful! Since they are moving, Erica really wanted some photos around their first home. I thought it was a fabulous idea, and of course Erica had her porch decorated perfectly for Fall!
Do you see that cute little guy sitting by the pumpkin?!
After we took photos around their house we headed to a nearby Apple Orchard! Poor Derek had to hang out with 2 photographers and I’m not sure he always shared in our excitement over certain spots and elements, like those fluffy things on the left! 🙂
Aren’t they just so cute?! Spending time with them is always fun!
They even agreed to play in the leaves!
On our way back we had to stop and take photos on the road that Derek runs on. All his idea, Friends! I’ve always questioned why he likes to run in circles so much, but after seeing this road I totally understand! Ha!
Derek + Erica,
Thank you for asking me to take your pictures! I had so much fun with you both as usual! I’m just going to suggest that we make this a yearly event.
Best of luck in all you do! North Africa is going to be lucky to have you!
