Jacob + Marta | #3Willows2Andersons1Love

August 23, 2022

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  I have a super fun wedding to share with you this week!  I look forward to each wedding for one reason or another, but I was extra excited for Jake + Marta’s wedding! Let’s recap the day, shall we?!

First stop: 3 Willows Event Center!  It has been so fun getting to know their wonderful staff!  This was the third wedding we photographed at the event center in the last 4 weeks! Marta and her sweet family members were getting ready upstairs in the spacious Bridal Suite!

Excitement (and a little bit of nerves!) filled the air!

LOOK AT HER SHOES.  I’m obsessed 😍 Also, flowers by Lisk’s.  They never fall short of amazing!

I always ask my couple’s how they met!  It’s actually one of the first questions they answer on my initial questionnaire. Jake + Marta met on a dating app like so many others!  The sweet part is that after a few weeks of talking, they realized they were 5 hours away from each other!  Marta from NYC and Jake from Brantingham. They decided to give it a shot anyway, decided to meet each other in person, and the rest is history!

Marta is such a fun loving woman!  It has been an absolute treat to get to know her a little better and be there for such a special day!

One of my dear friends, Katherine Widrick, assisted me for this wedding!  This was her first wedding and she did an incredible job!  She definitely has an eye!  This shot below is one of my favorites!

The bride and her brothers!

Next stop: The Church!  How nice is that getaway truck?!

Jake and his brother, Sam were putting the final touches on when we arrived! They had custom suits! Jake’s had their wedding date inside!

Wedding time!

Mr. & Mrs. Jacob Anderson!

Marta is Polish, so there a few fun traditions that were new to me!  A photo outside of the church with all the guests was one of them!

After portraits, we went back to 3 Willows for the reception! Jake + Marta really loved on their friends and family!

Another Polish tradition!  When the Bride + Groom entered the reception, the Mother of the Bride issued a blessing.  They dip their pieces of bread in some salt on top of the loaf and eat it.  After that, they each take a drink.  One glass has water, the other vodka.  It’s a surprise which is which.  This symbolized Marriage.  Some days will be easy, the others harder.  They would usually toss the glasses behind them and if they break, it means good things for their marriage!  Because we were inside a venue, they put the glasses in a bag and stomped on them!  It is safe to say that Jake + Marta have a happy marriage ahead of them!

During the reception, it rained so hard!  I didn’t drag Jake + Marta out in the pouring rain, but thought it would be fun to remember the rain that fell on their wedding day!

The DJ had the men play a game of musical chairs!  It was fun to watch them running all over the reception hall to find the items they needed to stay in the game!

That table runner is acting like a jacket in this instance!

Marta had been planning to surprise Jake with a firework show! It was a beautiful way to end the evening!

Congratulations, Jake + Marta!

I wish God’s blessing on your marriage!  May all your dreams come true!
