New Website!

 

Hey Friends!  Happy Valentines Day!

I’ve been a little silent over here but I promise that I had a good reason for it!  I have spent the past month and a half busily working to finish up some 2017 things, and also putting together this new website!  I’m so excited about it!  When I first got a website back in 2015 I literally knew nothing about them so I went with the simplest route and found a host site that would give me a domain I would own forever (chelseajanephotography.com, for those of you who have no idea what I’m talking about!) and a template where I just enter my information and photos and it does all the heavy lifting for me.  That option has worked for the past 3 years but around the 2 and a half year mark I found myself wanting more control.  I wanted to have a website that matched my style, personality, and brand.  I told myself it wasn’t a huge deal, just keep the old site.  The problem was that the more I thought about my business and where it is headed,  I decided I needed to make the change.  I signed up for a free trial with my new host, and then cried when I saw what I had to work with.   Everyone was telling me that I would love it, “it’s sooo easy to work with!”    I literally thought to myself, “Are these people crazy?”  I thought I knew a little bit about website design because I learned a lot the first time around, but I was completely wrong!  So, in the past month and a half I have learned so much more, (and I’ve used Google more than I have in my entire life) I’m incredibly grateful for this learning experience and those who have helped along the way and I don’t want to have to do any more technical thinking for the next 3 weeks!  🙂  I literally had the entire thing designed and then changed 95% of it 2 days before it went live. (insert face palm emoji here)  I like to live life on the edge and stress myself out like that.
